Painting Water with Acrylic
Join Roger Jackson for a 3-hour Sampler Series Workshop on Saturday Feb 11, 2023 at Shawnigan Lake Community Centre. Roger is a well-known local artist and instructor. His approach to teaching is that it’s not really teaching; it’s more guiding, encouraging and building confidence. If you haven’t yet had a chance to take an art class from Roger here is your chance.
“We live on an island so water is all around. Water is an interesting, challenging subject to paint. It is normally in motion, doesn’t sit and pose for you. The colour of the water is affected by light, environmental conditions, particles suspended in the water, depth and distance from the viewer. In this workshop we’ll focus on the ocean but will talk about the different approaches for urban/freshwater scenes.”
Cost of this workshop is $25.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members. This is an all-levels acrylic workshop but some painting experience in any medium is an asset (but not necessary).
All materials, mediums and canvas supplied except brushes. Roger suggests two brushes, a round #2 and a flat or bright #6 OR #10 acrylic brush.
