In this workshop, techniques will be explored which will allow the participants to enjoy hands on experience with creating their own original handmade relief prints. Participants will experience printing on a couple of different surfaces or plates using colourful, non toxic printing inks. This workshop is suitable for adults & mature teens.

His award winning songs explore the highs and lows of love, injustice, and the marbled mess of the human condition. Award-winning singer-songwriter Marina Avros, known for her solo work and performances with the Belle Miners, hails from Vancouver Island. In this workshop, Iris will teach the process of creating simple armature with applied paper to build a small sculpture. She will also include the option of creating a small bowl using papier maché pulp. Hand outs will be provided & as this medium requires drying time, Iris will lead us to a point where the project could be completed at home. Iris is a very accomplished illustrator, a retired graphic design educator (18 yrs at VIU), & a passionate artist who explores a variety of mediums. We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to learn from Iris.
