Spotlight Series: The Chimney Swallows
Shawnigan Lake Community Centre - 2804 Shawnigan Lake RoadThe Chimney Swallows are a unique folk music duo and microtheatre troupe composed of songwriters Raghu Lokanathan and Corwin Fox. Playing music together casually, while working (& picketing) for the Victoria Public Library the friends discovered they had a mutual affinity for long conversations, song games and the stories of random strangers, & so began The Chimney Swallows. This is a real opportunity to enjoy a special performance by this unique duo as Raghu now resides in Prince George and Corwin on Vancouver Island, so it is rare to see them together, much like the avian phenomenon after which they are named.

Paper Jewelry with Julie Collins
Shawnigan Lake Community Centre - 2804 Shawnigan Lake RoadThe art of creating beautiful and unique jewelry pieces using paper. Exploring a variety of different types of paper, including recycled paper products, you will learn the technique of rolling the paper into different shapes and sizes creating a variety of unique beads. The beads are then laid out and strung together to design one-of-a kind wearable ART.
